A female Canadian firefighter was killed while battling a massive blaze in a forest on Thursday in British Columbia.
The firefighter was operating near the town of Revelstoke when she was killed, Reuters reported adding that her name will be released soon.
"Our hearts and thoughts go out to her family and community, both at home and in the B.C. Wildfire Service," the B.C. General Employees' Union said in a statement.
More than 2,000 firefighters are battling more than 350 fires across British Columbia and swathes of eastern Canada. Wildfire emissions have hit record highs.
